How long is each ice bath session recommended to last?

To reap the health benefits, it's recommended to stay in water below 59°F (15°C) for anywhere between 3 to 8 minutes. Cold water therapy is most effective when both time and temperature are balanced correctly. Keep in mind that everyone’s tolerance varies, and some people may handle colder temperatures better than others.

What is the ideal temperature you recommend?

We suggest starting your ice bath at 59°F (15°C) if you're a beginner, then gradually decreasing the temperature and session length over time. This helps your body adapt to the cold more effectively.

How much ice should I add?

We recommend adding 13–26 lb (6–12 kg) of ice per session, depending on your tap water temperature and desired coldness. If you live in a colder climate, you may not need ice at all.

What's the best way to drain the Ice Bath?

The Norquest cold plunge comes with a tap and pipe for draining. To empty it, connect the hose and simply turn on the tap.

How frequently should I clean or empty the Ice Bath?

To maintain clean water for longer, we recommend adding 1–2 lb (500g–1kg) of sea salt, which allows you to keep the water for 3–4 weeks. Without salt, it's best to clean the pod every 3–5 ice bath sessions.

Is it possible to set up the Ice Bath outdoors?

Absolutely! The Norquest cold plunge is built to be weather and UV resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, even in sub-zero temperatures.
